We understand that the condition of the box is paramount to collectors. All large or deluxe edition games are wrapped in a protective layer, suspended in biodegradable packing peanuts, and shipped in reinforced double-walled corrugated boxes. We do not use standard retail mailers. For items over 5kg, we use dedicated courier services with full tracking and insurance to ensure pristine arrival.
If you open a brand new game from Velvet Luden and discover a missing meeple, a torn card, or a misprinted board, contact our concierge immediately. You do not need to return the entire heavy box. We have direct lines to the publishers and will arrange for the specific replacement components to be sent directly to your door, completely free of charge, to restore your game to perfect condition.
We use a 1-5 weight scale, similar to community standards. A 1/5 is a simple party game that can be taught in two minutes. A 3/5 is a medium-weight strategy game requiring an hour to learn and involving multiple interlocking systems. A 4.5/5 or 5/5 indicates a heavy, highly complex simulation or economic game that demands a dedicated group, extensive rulebook study, and significant playtime (often 3+ hours).
Whenever possible, we source the deluxe, 'All-In', or backer-exclusive editions of highly regarded games. If a product listing specifically notes "Deluxe" or "All-In", it generally includes upgraded components (metal coins, resin tokens, dual-layered boards) that are not found in the standard retail prints. We are exploring premium logistics partners for mainland Europe and North America, but our focus remains on providing an impeccable domestic service for heavy, high-value tabletop goods.
We accept returns on unopened games with the original shrink wrap completely intact within 30 days of delivery. Due to the high risk of component loss, we cannot accept returns on games that have been opened or punched unless there is a critical manufacturing defect that cannot be solved via our component replacement service. The buyer is responsible for secure return shipping.
